Terms of Use
Last updated August 17, 2026
These terms govern use of Griddex. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
What Griddex is
Griddex is a search and closet tool. We index publicly listed Second Life Marketplace information (titles, photos, contents names) so residents can find items they already own. We are not a store. We do not sell Linden dollars, mesh, or creator products. We are not Linden Research, Inc. See the copyright and trademark notice.
Your account
- You must be 16 or older (or the digital-consent age where you live, if higher).
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for activity on the account.
- Do not upload anyone else’s inventory without permission.
- Do not probe, scrape in a way that harms the service, or impersonate staff.
Your closet
Closet rows are yours. Other people signed in only see their own closet. We store pointers into the shared public catalog plus names you give us — not a pirate copy of the mesh. You can delete your account; ask us at the email address on your Griddex account if you need help.
Creator and Linden property
Listing titles, photos, brand names, and designs belong to their owners. We use that public information to identify and search — the same way a card catalog names a book without claiming the book. You will not use Griddex to copy, resell, or pass off creator work as yours.
Acceptable use
No malware, no harassment, no attempts to break into other residents’ closets, and no use that violates Linden Lab’s terms or applicable law. We may suspend an account that breaks these rules.
No warranty
The index is incomplete and will be wrong sometimes. Search is offered “as is.” We do not promise that every Marketplace listing or every inventory name will match. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness, and non-infringement.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Griddex and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost inventory, lost profits, or data. Our total liability for a claim is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (currently $0 — the service is free) or (b) fifty U.S. dollars. Some places do not allow these limits; they apply only as far as permitted.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply. GDPR and similar rights are described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top is the current version. Continued use after a material change means you accept the new terms.
